After the playing, what was it like to work with you?

After a gig, it’s easy to replay the music. The fill you rushed, the transition that felt great, the tempo that crept up in the second set.
Spend a few minutes on the rest of the night too. How did the work go, apart from the playing? If somebody asked the leader about you tomorrow, what would they say? Is there anything you’d want to clean up before the next call?
Those questions can be uncomfortable. They’re still worth asking, especially when nobody has offered you that feedback.
