I opened Substack this morning and saw something I wasn’t expecting.
Broadway Drumming 101 is #43 Rising in Music.
I want to explain what that actually means, because it’s not just a number.
“Rising” means the platform’s algorithm has started showing Broadway Drumming 101 to people who’ve never heard of it. New readers are finding it on their own. The publication is growing beyond the people who already know it exists.
That only happens one way — the people already here have to be engaged enough that the platform notices.
You did that.
If you’ve been reading, listening to the podcast, or forwarding a post to a musician you know — that’s why this moved. Nobody stumbles onto a Rising ranking. Someone has to care enough to show up consistently, and then tell somebody else.
That’s you.
So thank you. I really appreciate it.
One more thing — I added a new section to the site. You’ll see it at the top: Resources — The links that actually matter.
It’s a curated list. Not a dumping ground. Every link is something a working Broadway musician can actually use.
Bookmark it. Share it with someone who needs it.
