Since his early years, Dan has been deeply engaged in music, a commitment that led him to study at East Carolina University's School of Music. At the age of 19, he daringly auditioned for the Off-Broadway show "STOMP". His remarkable performance secured him a position in the cast, which kickstarted an extraordinary journey. His journey took him from performing in the New York company to joining the national tour, culminating in his playing the lead role and serving as the Rehearsal Director. The tour allowed him to perform alongside Bobby McFerrin at the Presidential Millennium Celebration and make appearances on esteemed TV shows like "Good Morning America".
Post-tour, Dan found his way back to the vibrant scene of NYC where he has delivered performances at prestigious venues such as Madison Square Garden, Town Hall, The Grand Ole Opry, Radio City Music Hall, and The Meadowlands Arena.
More recently, Dan demonstrated his adept drumming skills on Broadway for "The Cher Show," a biographical musical co-produced by the legendary Cher herself. He took on the role of house drummer for seasons 7, 8 & 10 of NBC's "America's Got Talent" and performed in the PBS special "From Broadway With Love", sharing the stage with luminaries such as Chita Rivera, Kelli O'Hara, Jesse Mueller, Norbert Leo Butz, and Lilias White. Beyond these performances, he exhibited his drumming versatility in Broadway shows like "Holler If Ya Hear Me," "Wicked," "Little Shop Of Horrors," and the Obie Award-winning show "The World Is Round" at BAM. Dan has also played for Grammy Award-winning artist Tim Kubart and a range of artists including Cher, Andrea Bocelli, Tituss Burgess, Melinda Doolittle, and many others.
Dan's musical expertise is not confined to performance. He is also a proficient music producer and recording engineer. A notable recent achievement was producing, engineering, and mixing a Christmas record for Randy Rainbow, which soared to #1 on the Billboard Comedy charts and #7 on iTunes Top Albums. His production credits span across working with bounce music legend Big Freedia, Neil Sedaka, and mixing tracks for high-profile commercial campaigns and Broadway shows.
Dan's work has resonated in all aspects of the music industry, from live performance to studio production, demonstrating his multifaceted and exceptional talent. His success in the industry is attested by his endorsements from Paiste Cymbals and ACS Custom In-Ear Monitors.
