I played this set every night while on the road with Ain’t Too Proud before moving into the Imperial Theater in New York City. The snare drum you see here is the Yamaha Recording Custom steel snare. I eventually switched to a Recording Custom brass snare. They both are great, but I wanted a deeper snare for the Broadway production.
The drums are the Absolute Hybrid Maple drums from Yamaha.
I also switched from Vic Firth to Innovative Percussion sticks.
